Sayed Baqir was the team captain of De Maiwand Atalan during the 2014 Roshan Afghan Premier League season. Like many of his fellow RAPL players he is a humble and devout Muslim. Baqir is thankful to God and those people that support him in his journey of being an ambassador for Afghanistan football.     

One of the people he respects the most is the owner of De Maiwand Atalan and a fellow ambassador of football in Afghanistan, Haroon Popal. In a Facebook post by Baqir on November 11, 2014 he showed his thanks for Mr. Popal, "Dear Haji Haroon Popal, God gives him long life because he improved my and Helmand’s football. God gives courage to other youth to serve their people and country. We really appreciate him!"
