De Maiwand Atalan Beat Toofan Harirod to Grab the Top Spot in Group B

In a game that will go down in RAPL history, De Maiwand Atalan grinded out a 2-0 victory over Toofan Harirod. Coming into this season De Maiwand Atalan were, at best, considered a middle-of-the-pack team. With back to back victories over powerful teams: Simorgh Alborz and Toofan Harirod, Maiwand has become the surprise team of the 2014 tournament. 

The first half looked like it was going to end in a scoreless tie until Khallid Ahmad Irfan scored in the 47th minute for De Maiwand Atalan. The second goal of the game came courtesy of Saeed Ebrahimi to seal the win for De Maiwand Atalan in the 95th minute. 

With the win De Maiwand Atalan sit atop group B ahead of De Spinghar Bazan, Toofan Harirod, and Simorgh Alborz. They have two wins, 6 points, and have secured a spot in the semifinals. 

Toofan Harirod has an uphill climb in order to stay alive for a third consecutive semifinals appearance. They need to win their next game and need De Spinghar Bazan to lose.
