De Abasin Sape represents the eastern region of Afghanistan. Abasin is the Pashto name of Indus River, a major south-flowing river in South Asia with a total length of 3,180 km, which makes it one of longest rivers in Asia. This river feeds into many small rivers in Afghanistan and is one of the important suppliers of water resources in the eastern region. Sape is a Pashto word meaning waves.
Reviewing the Afghan Premier League (APL) history, De Absin Sape has not been able to make significant triumphs or achievements and has been unable to cross the group stage line.
The 2016 draw put De Abasin Sape in death group, Group “A”. Though six players from Kabul joined the team to boost its performance in this season, De Abasin Sape lost all the 2016 APL group stage matches and came eighth for the fifth time.
