This year's inaugural Nawroz Tournament was a major milestone recorded in the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) history. A shorter version of the RAPL Main Event took place in the eastern province of Nangarhar with four of the eight RAPL teams participating: ShaheenAsamayee, SimorghAlborz, De MaiwandAtalan, and De SpingharBazan. The result of the tournament was SimorghAlborz  defeatingShaheenAsmayee  4-3 in an exciting penalty shootout and taking home the first Nawroz Tournament Cup.

The Nawroz Tournament also featured friendly matches between Laghman and Kunar provincial football clubs. Moreover, the local fans rejoiced over having their favorite teams play in their hometown and being able to watch the games in the Nangarhar's Afghanistan Football Federation Stadium to cheer-on their favorite local heroes.

RAPL also conducted school clinics to reach out to school children in the eastern provinces to promote the values of a clean and healthy lifestyle as well as the importance of national unity. RAPL also distributed thousands of tickets to hundreds of schools in the area to encourage youth participation. The young people in the east as well as all the youth throughout Afghanistan benefited from the advice they received via the 2015 RAPL Nawroz Tournament invitational.
