Mawjhai Amu Records Their First Win RAPL Competition

18 Sep, 2014

Both Mawjhai Amu and De Abasin Sape lost their two previous matches against Oqaban Hindukosh and Shaheen Asmayee, giving up a combined 19 goals in those losses. Today they matched up against each other with zero hope of make the semifinals.

Today’s match, for both teams, was to save face and record a win before heading home for the offseason. Mawjhai Amu dominated throughout the game, creating more opportunities for themselves than De Abasin Sape.

Early on in the game the referee awarded Mawjhai Amu with a penalty, which the De Abasin Sape goalkeeper defended marvelously. A few minutes later, the star of the game, Masoud Qarizada scored to give Mawjhai Amu the early lead in the 20th minute. His strike was just out of the reach of the De Abasin Sape goalkeeper. Mawjhai Amu took a 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The second half was more of the same. De Abasin Sape had a difficult time creating chances against Mawjhai Amu's rigid defense. Mawjhai Amu, on the other hand, had no such problems. Masoud Qarizada received a brilliant pass from his teammate, which he converted into his second goal of the game in the 58th minute. The De Abasin Sape goalkeeper was confused by the quickly developing attack and ended up badly misplaying his angle, which allowed Masoud to score with ease.

De Abasin Sape never had control of the game as they gave up 57% of possession and missed chances to equalize in the first half. They will have to wait until next year to atone for their three loss season.

Mawjhai Amu fans have reason to celebrate since their team got their first win, ever, in RAPL competition.
