The fourth season of the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) is now under way to once again distract Afghans from the normal stresses of life in Afghanistan and instead focus on the joyous entertainment of football competition. Players for Shaheen Asmayee, representing Kabul and De Spinghar Bazan representing the eastern zone had already been selected in two previous competitive regional tournaments.  A third team, which has recently been formed by the RAPL members in close cooperation with Afghan Football Federation officials tasked with finalizing the 26 players forming the 2015  Toofan Harirod team.
This season, there has been a slight change in the number of provinces participating at the Herat Regional Tournament, as the team from Farah will no longer compete. Instead, Farah will be competing against contestants from the south zone  - working their way to form De Maiwand Atalan.
In late April, a fabulous regional tournament took place in Herat city at the Provincial Football Stadium. Four teams:  two from Herat City, one from Ghor and one from Badghis,  participated in the tournament. After a number of mesmerizing matches were played by fantastic young players from the six teams, the strongest 26 players were selected by AFF officials and the team's international coach, Mr. Ghairatali Mirahmadov, who possesses an A-level coaching license from the Asian Football Federation.
