Shaheen Asmayee will be quarantined for the last 10 days of training effective January 20, 2017. The purpose of this action is to let the team have a closer look and study their gaps, defects, and techniques. The evaluation will be supervised by their coach and assistant coach, Boir Igamberdiev and Mujtaba Faiz. Physical strength, coordination in exchanging passes, defending, attacking, and counter-attacking strategies will be magnified during the quarantine time. Overall, the priority for Shaheen will be enhancing the team’s technique.

Boir Igamberdiev, Shaheen’s coach arrived in Kabul last week to supervise the team's performance and rehearsal for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2017.

“With the moral that the team has, we are trying to eliminate any chance of flailing around the pitch and keep our unbeaten start to AFC Cup 2017,” said Mujtaba Faiz, the assistant coach. The team starts each day by comprehensive exercises in the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) stadium. The quarantine phase will help the players remain focused on their performance, nutrition, and physical well-being, stated Faiz. The participation of players in all exercises is mandatory.

Shaheen Asmayee will face-off against Khosilot, a Tajiki football club, at the AFC Cup 2017. The match is expected to be a closely contested affair. “Shaheen has always competed for victory and we will keep the path as such in the AFC Cup 2017 against the opponent,” claimed Faiz.

Recently, the 2016 Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) champions, Shaheen Asmayee has blown apart Amarkhail and Jawanan Urdo teams in friendly matches on Sunday and past Thursday. The victories have raised the hopes of football fans here in Afghanistan and indicated their ability to win the outdoor games.  

The AFC Cup 2017 brings together its regional football club members to take part in an international football competition. This is the first time an RAPL team has been qualified to compete for winning a trophy at the AFC Cup.
