Shaheen advances to the championship round for the 3rd time in a row

29 Sep, 2015

Shaheen and Amu kicked this afternoon and within 4 minutes Shaheen struck at Amu’s goal and landing a shot. But the referee threw cold water on the hopes of an early score, declaring the shot offside and canceling the goal for Shaheen.

Undaunted, Shaheen pressed ahead with their offense and were rewarded for their efforts at the 9th minute by goal from their striker Hashmatullah, bringing the game 1 – 0 in favor of Shaheen.

Amu had a good chance to score the equalizer via a corner kick at the 12th minute but their striker Masood added a little too much zip to his kick, sening the ball sailing over the bar.

At the 26th minute Shaheen almost improved their score but a powerful strike by Jamil Naseeri missed the top of the net by centimeters. It looked like Shaheen’s mixture of great offense and defense would too much of a puzzle for Amu to solve but at the 35th minute Amu’s Masood Qarizada scored an equalizer with a tricky chip goal.

The goal rekindled Amu’s hopes and they continued to relentless assault Shaheen’s half of the field. The first quarter ended in a seesaw battle for control of the field between Shaheen and Amu but Shaheen remained in the lead with an aggregate 4-3 over Amu.

At the start of the second half Shaheen immediately put Amu on the defensive, taking accurate shots on Amu’s net at the 46th and 55th minute but Amu was kept in the game by great saves by their goalie Hezbullah.

Desperation began to set in for Amu towards the end of the second half as time began to run out but they were able to create few scoring opportunities for themselves. At the 71st Amu’s Jaffar almost had a chance to improve their score but was called offside by the referee.

As the clock ran out, Shaheen remained ahead of Amu with an aggregate 4-3 score in their favor, winning them the game despite the tie and setting them up for a clash De against SpingharBazan for the 2015 champion cup this coming October 2nd
