Toofan Harirod is the second team to qualify for the Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) semi-finals after thrashing Oqaban Hindukosh 4:0 on Wednesday.
The leader of the RAPL Group B Toofan Harirod controlled the ball from the start with a defense that didn’t panic even in moments of imminent threat.
With its quick players and precise forwards, Toofans technical advantage over Oqaban at Kabul’s Afghanistan Football Federation field was obvious.
In the 34th minute, the team’s Hamidullah Karimi took a deep pass in the penalty box sending the ball immediately to the right corner of the goal.
Only seven minutes later, Karimi again scored to give his team a comfortable 2:0 lead at half-time.
The second half began with Toofan executing a fast attack from the left side. Chaos erupted in Oqaban’s box and the referee awarded a penalty to Toofan.
It was once more up to Karimi to deliver – and he did. He sent a penalty shot into the net with a strength that left the keeper with no chance to save.
At the 53rd minute Karimi helped set up a shot, overcoming Oqaban’s defense with elegant footwork before passing to Gholam Reza Yahqoubi who rolled the ball past the keeper for the fourth and final goal.
In the last 30 minutes Oqaban launched several dangerous attacks but was not able to overcome Toofan’s goal keeper.
Toofan remains undefeated in Group B, going through to the semi-finals with 6 points.
The next match of the group will be between Mawjhai Amu and Simorgh Alburz on Friday September 28.
Before then, Group A teams De Abasin Sape and Maiwand Atalan face-off on Thursday September 27.
